Whether you are new to Radio Javan or have been using it for a while now, there's so many features that you may not have discovered yet! Read this list of some of hidden and not-so-hidden tools that will take your RJ experience to a whole new level.
1. Create a Radio Javan Playlist
One of the most basic things to learn is how to create a playlist and manage your playlists. Make a collection of songs for parties, car trips, gym workouts, and when you're just in that mood. Take a look at step-by-step guide to get started with playlists.
2. Download Entire Playlist for Offline and Follow Playlists
You can quickly download an entire playlist for offline use by tapping the "Download" icon on the playlist. This will add the playlist to your list of playlists. When the playlist is updated, the new songs will be downloaded automatically in the background.
Keep in mind, though, that the songs from the playlist won’t be automatically added to your My Music library. You’ll need to add each song individually if you want them in your library.
If you "Follow" a playlist, then it will show up in your list of Playlists in My Music so you can quickly listen to the playlist again.
3. Hide Song From Playlist
Don't you like a song that shows up in a playlist? You can select to "Hide Song" and then the RJ app will always skip that song when you are playing that playlist!
4. Personalized Music in "For You"
Radio Javan gives you personalized playlists based on previous listening, as well as songs that you've liked or added to your My Music. From the Home screen, you can see suggestions specifically for you!
"Favorites Mix", "Hip Hop Mix", "Pop Mix", "Chill Mix", and "Upbeat Mix" are the special playlists that feature the songs you've recently been playing in the past few days. You can also browse playlists from the artists that you are enjoying the most right now.
5. See Who Wrote That Song
Radio Javan is one of the only places where you can see the full credits for any song. By selecting "View Info" option from the song, you can see the musicians and songwriters who contributed to the song.
From there, you can even tap on a person's name to see more works by that person. For example, if you enjoyed the lyrics of a song, you can find more songs that the lyricist may have wrote!
6. Sort Songs by Artist
Did you know you can sort the songs from an artist? This is useful if you want to browse by the most popular (by play count) from an artist, or if you want to see the newest songs that were recently added. Simply tap on the "Sort" icon on the top right when browsing songs by an artist.
7. Change Audio Settings
Radio Javan on iOS has a way to make the volume of all the music that you play be equal, so that when you are playing songs back to back, one song does not sound louder or quieter than another. From Settings > Playback, simply turn on the "Auto Normalize Audio" option and you can also set how loud you want the audio to be.
From the same screen, you can also change the quality of the music if you want better sounding audio. Changing the quality to "High" requires a RJ Premium Subscription.
8. Upload Your Own Music to "My Files"
Sometimes there is a song you may want that's not on Radio Javan. But you can easily import any audio file from your own music library to the RJ app itself. That way you can have all your favorite music all on the same app! Simply go to My Music > My Files, and from there you can add the audio file that you have saved on the Files app on iOS.
Or if you have the audio file on another app (for example Mail or Telegram), you can choose to share the file to the RJ app to save it. Check out our guide to My Files for more detail.
9. Follow Your Favorite Artists
Want to follow your favorite artist? You can tap the "Follow" button next to an artist. Then from My Music > Artists, you can easily access your favorite artists. This is useful so you don't have to search every time when you want to quickly listen to all songs by an artist.
10. Add Songs Quickly to Playlist
There's an easy way to add more songs to one of your own playlist, instead of going to each song. When you have the playlist open, tap on the "Add More Songs" button. From here you can find songs and tap on them to add to your playlist quickly. You can even see "Suggested Songs" based on what you've already added to your playlist.
11. Sort Your Playlists
Did you know you can sort the order of all your own playlists and the ones you follow? You can do this by tapping on the "Sort" icon on the top right. One of the best options is to sort by "Recently Played", so you can always find the playlists that you are listening to most.
12. Add Widget to Home Screen
On iOS, you can add the Radio Javan Widget to your Home screen. The widget shows your now playing song as well as music that you've recently played. You can even customize the color between Red Theme and Dark Theme from "Settings" in the RJ app.
13. Identify Music With Pulse
You ever hear a song at a party or from a friend and want to know the name of the track? With Pulse, that's exactly what you can do -- very similar to Shazam. Just tap on the "Pulse" icon on the top right on the Search screen. Watch this tutorial video to see more about how Pulse works.
Just a note, RJ Premium subscription is required to use Pulse.
14. Swipe To Add to Playlist
You may not know there is an easy way to add songs to your playlists. You can simply just swipe a song to the left to add that song to a playlist. Once you swipe, an option will appear allowing you to select which playlist you’d like to add the song to. Tap the desired playlist and the song will be added instantly.
15. Share As Instagram Story
You can share any song, podcast, playlist, video, or artist to your followers on Instagram by simply selecting "Instagram Story" as the share option. This presents your followers with a colorful story so you can let them know what music you're enjoying right now!
16. Radio Javan in Your Car
If you have a CarPlay compatible car, you can use the RJ App directly on your car's dashboard. Browse your recent songs, playlists, featured songs, My Music, and much more just by connecting your iPhone to your car.
